Media is defined as the way information is conveyed. It is the delivery method used to send a message to the audience. Since this entire semester was remote, I knew that all of our assignments were going to be digital copies. It is important to understand how your media/ design effect the way you write to your audience and how your audience responds to your work. For example, an email can be sent instantly to a wide range of different people, meaning you should write to a large audience. However, if you are personally handing a paper copy to one specific person, that one person is your audience and you write to accommodate to them. Therefore, you do research about that person to figure out the best way to write to them.
At the beginning of the semester, I believed I would only be doing digital submissions since we are remotely learning. However, I found out that our final project was a group PowerPoint presentation. This was a difficult change in the way I was used to submitting work. Unfortunately, I was not able to adapt very well to the PowerPoint media, and our group did not do the best job with our presentation. Constantly writing and submitting things digitally all semester made me used to working at my own pace. However, the presentation was timed and my group and I were not used to working under pressure, nor were we used to this method of conveying our information. The content itself in our presentation was good. However, the time we spent on the presentation exceeded the limit.
Below are the comments given to our group on our presentation.
